I am Dr Mrs Shashi A Chiplonkar, a senior research scientist in the field of health sciences and nutrition. I have done my Ph D in Statistics under Late Prof P V Sukhatme, Chief statistician, FAO/WHO, Rome, and pursued my career in nutrition and health research.
I have over 30 years of research experience in biometry, health sciences and Nutrition research with active involvement in
i) formulation of projects in health & nutrition, role of micro-nutrients in health disorders, bioavailability studies of iron, zinc, calcium;
ii) designing experiments and statistical analysis of life sciences’ data.
I have a very good experience of performing statistical analysis of biological data from various fields like genetics, microbiology, botany, biochemistry, medicine. I have worked on various computer platforms such as Fortran, C++, visual basic, and programs like MS-Office, SPSS, MINITAB, Stata etc.
I have over 200 research publications in International and National peer-reviewed journals, 3 chapters in two books on biostatistics, one chapter in paediatrics textbook on ”Zinc in Child health”.
